and I don’t know when I’ll be back again because I’ve got a one way ticket.
I am writing this as I sit waiting at boarding gate A3 at Cape Town Int. Airport. Flying on emirates to Dubai, then a 5 hour stop over and on to Shanghai arriving finally in China around midnight on sunday.
Have just said goodbye to my folks (some tears from my mom and me ) and my brother. Telephone calls to sister and brother-in-law.
The gravity of this adventure is starting to sink in. Long flight to a country I’ve never been to before and to be honest know little about. A land of 1 billion people whose language i can’t speak. Not being met at the airport due to late arrival. Not to mention a job I’m not convinced I’ll be good at.
So yes, a little nervous. Actually, make that very nervous. But excited too…
Next post will be from China. Which, if you don’t know has a firewall restricting web access from inside china but I should be able to post via e-mail like I have just done.
So for now, cheers SA and keep following my Chinas.
Rory.

Good luck buddy! Will def be following my China, in China
Safe flight & chat from the other side! No regrets remember!
See you in May 2010! For sure!
Good luck!
